Welcome to Richardson Counseling & Wellness Center

We believe in Brief, Solution Focused Counseling and Coaching, provided in a confidential, respectful environment. We partner with our clients to assist them in striving for a healthy balanced lifestyle. 

Charisa Richardson is a State and Nationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Anger Management Counselor, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor, Qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) providing DOT services. She is also a Board Certified Coach.

Richardson Counseling & Wellness Center, LLC is a SUPR (formerly DASA) approved, licensed provider. We implement Solutions for LIFE.

About Charisa Richardson

Char has over 20 years of experience working with the Substance Abuse population, predominantly working with court-ordered clients. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings, as well as being a former law enforcement officer. She opened her own private practice in 2006, serving substance abuse, DUI, Project SAVE, domestic violence and anger management clients. She facilitates multiple treatment groups on a weekly basis, serving both adults and adolescents.

Since 2010, Charisa Richardson has been a Certified Life Coach, becoming Board certified in 2016. She has created and presented dynamic and engaging programs for school leadership teams, NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners – Central Illinois Chapter) and Women In Leadership. Additionally, Charisa has created and faciliated the Women’s Leadership Institute for the Pekin Chamber of Commerce. She has recently provided leadership and team building workshops, including equine programs for local school staff.

Charisa has served as faculty for the IDOT sponsored DUI training, serving as a panel presenter regarding implementing Evidence Based Practices with DUI offenders. She has served on DUI committees as a consultant with Peoria County Court services, reviewing guidelines for treatment providers. She also creates continued education trainings for other counselors.

Currently her organization facilitates the Victim Impact Panel in Tazewell County. She is ICB certified as a CADC. She is a qualified SAP and also hold the following credentials: NCACII, CAS, CDVSII and CAMSII. She is a Board Certified Coach specializing in Relationships, Leadership and Business.
